ABCD
So today i began my listening conversations with people in the community. We call the ABCD conversations (assest based community development conversations). Hopefully with talking with people at Bridge of life as well as others out side the church i can better understand the community and the needs of the people here, and also begin to see how each person brings something to the table. What we would like is to build relationships and help connect people together so that as a community we can begin to see change in our selves, in our church, in our neighborhood. So Today i talked with Joe and Delia, for a little bit, they have lived in the Gardenland - Northgate community for a very long time. Hopefully i can learn more about them next week, but i also talked with Micheal a land lord and friend of the Lindners. He is going to teach me how to cook liver and onions. He used to be a chef in two different restaurants and also used to coach horse racing all around the US (he loved racing in Michigan). There are so many interesting people here, all who have stories about the area, stories of people who lives have been broken in one way or another. It is so amazing thought to see hoe interconnected they all are and how community they take care of one another.

KRISTENNN! :) I've been reading your blog and it's great. I am happy for you with this whole jubilee thing. I still remember when you were deciding whether or not to apply. It's exciting that you have the opportunity to put your lessons learned into action!! Hannah and I spent a whole 3 hour class on ABCD in community development. It's good stuff. I hope you are doing well! I'm praying for ya.
